Each of you will create your own personal blog, which is essentially an online journal, for you to post your reflections of where you currently are in relation to this course. In this area you will have the opportunity to discuss how the material presented and the interaction with fellow classmates has contributed to shaping your ideas and opinions regarding some of the topics we will be discussing. This is a space for you to share your thoughts, ideas and opinions. You will post to your same blog at least seven times throughout the semester.
The URL to your blog will be shared with everyone in the class at the Discussion Board. This will give you the chance to view blogs created by your classmates and respond to any of them by commenting, although this is not a requirement for your grade.
I don't want you to look upon this project with fear or trepidation but rather excitement about learning how to explore a new tool that you'll be able to continue to use in life. Some of you may already be very comfortable maneuvering in a blog and this will just give you one more chance to participate in one.
To create your blog you'll need to go to http://www.blogger.com/start. Blogger is a part of Google so you'll need to create an account on the front screen and then you'll go to the orange arrow that says "create your own blog now" and begin to have fun. You'll go through a series of steps to get the blog up and running and each should be self-explanatory for you. It is at this point that you will give your blog a name and identify what the URL will be. That's the piece that you'll need to post to the Discussion Board. Then to prepare your blog you can go to the "template" tab and create a look and feel for your blog. Next you can set up your settings under the "settings" tab and then go to "posting" when you're ready to post your first blog! Once you have your blog set like you want it, click on the orange publish post at the bottom of the box and then view your blog! I'm so excited for you all to begin sharing your blogs!

The Blogs have let me know a bit more about classmates and you. I've had trouble posting a picture to my Blog. The pictures seem to get stuck in the uploading status for soooo looooong. It has been 37 minutes since my latest atempt started. Can you give me an idea if this is normal? Smiles from Robin Opel at
